2K will honor the late Kobe Bryant as NBA 2K24‘s cover athlete for the “Kobe Bryant” Edition and “Black Mamba Edition”. Also announced was that NBA 2K24 pre-orders will be confirmed for July 7.

This will be the fourth time the late superstar has appeared on an NBA 2K cover, he was also featured on the NBA 2K10, NBA 2K17: Legend Edition, and two NBA 2K21 Mamba Forever Editions.

Many 2K fans have called for Kobe to be on the cover to honor his number “24”, and with this announcement, Kobe on NBA 2K24 has been confirmed.
Also released were the first screenshots of NBA 2K24, showing off the graphics with depictions of a young and old Kobe Bryant.
With Kobe announced as a cover athlete, there’s a good chance we’ll see a “Kobe Challenge” in NBA 2K24 like NBA 2K23 featured with the Jordan Challenge.
