The countdown to NBA 2K27 is officially underway. 2K has unveiled the first wave of details for this year’s release, announcing the game’s worldwide release date, how to play the game early, cover athletes, editions, pricing, and pre-order information.
NBA 2K27 Release Date & Early Access
NBA 2K27 launches worldwide on September 4, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. NBA 2K27 will not release on last-gen Players who purchase the Deluxe Edition or Ultra Edition can hit the virtual hardwood beginning Friday, August 28, 2026, at 9:00 AM PDT, up to one week before the worldwide release. Players who purchase either the Deluxe Edition or Ultra Edition will receive Early Access beginning August 28, 2026, at 9:00 AM PDT, allowing them to take the floor before the game’s worldwide launch.

With the release date, editions, and cover athletes now on the board, the spotlight shifts to gameplay. 2K confirmed that the first official NBA 2K27 gameplay trailer will premiere on Tuesday, July 28, giving fans their first extended look at this year’s on-court action before launch.
