Choosing the right team can make a huge difference in your NBA 2K27 MyCAREER. Some teams already have stars locked into your MyPLAYER’s position, while others leave the door wide open for your MyPLAYER to step in and make an immediate impact. Here’s a look at the best teams for your MyPLAYER to play for no matter what position you play.
Point Guard (PG)
Miami Heat
Miami is one of the best landing spots for a MyPLAYER point guard. Davion Mitchell can easily be replaced as the main PG competition and you’ll be running the offense alongside the blockbuster offseason pickup of Giannis Antetokounmpo, as well as the addition of sharpshooter Klay Thompson. 3-time all-star Bam Adebayo gives you another elite frontcourt option and 2-way player Andrew Wiggins will also contribute to a team that’s projected to finish near the top of the East. If you want a starting role without sacrificing winning or talent around you, Miami checks basically every box.
Charlotte Hornets
Charlotte becomes much more interesting at PG after LaMelo Ball left for Minnesota, opening up a major hole in the backcourt. Coby White is now the main competition, but at an 80 rating, gives your MyPLAYER a realistic shot at taking over the starting role. You’ll also have Naz Reid (brought over in the LaMelo trade) and young guns Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel as legitimate scoring options as the team grows together. The Hornets aren’t expected to contend immediately, but the combination of an open PG spot and a young core makes this a strong MyCAREER destination if you want the offense built around your player.
Houston Rockets
Houston is another intriguing PG destination. Both Reed Sheppard and an aging Fred VanVleet sit at a 79 OVR and gives your MyPLAYER a realistic path to taking over the starting job. You’ll also have Kevin Durant, Alperen Åžengün, and Amen Thompson around you, giving you an elite scoring option and a talented young core to work with. The Rockets are built to compete now while still having plenty of room for your MyPLAYER to become a major part of the offense.
Shooting Guard (SG)
Philadelphia 76ers
The 76ers are arguably the most loaded destination for a shooting guard. VJ Edgecombe is only an 83 OVR and is replaceable enough that your MyPLAYER can realistically take over the position. With Jaylen Brown and LeBron James now joining Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, that’s a massive star-studded lineup. You’re getting an open enough SG role while surrounded by some of the best talent in the league.
Washington Wizards
Washington is an intriguing SG destination if you want to help take over the new-look Wizards. 24th overall 2026 NBA Draft pick Kyshawn George is slotted as the starting SG at 79 OVR, giving you an easy path to taking the starting job. More importantly, Washington has completely reshaped its roster around players like Anthony Davis, Trae Young, and AJ Dybantsa, giving you a much more talented group to play alongside than the typical rebuilding team. If you want to become a major part of a franchise that’s clearly entering a new era, this is one of the more interesting SG spots in 2K27.
Golden State Warriors
Golden State continues to have an open staring shooting guard spot. The current SG options of Brandin Podziemski and De’Anthony Meltonare are well below star level, opening up the position to play alongside Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and Kristaps Porzingis. It’s an appealing destination if you want to step into a major role next to established, yet aging talent, and get Steph and Draymond their 5th ring.
Small Forward (SF)
San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio is arguably the best small forward destination because the position is relatively open while the team itself is loaded – and you get to play alongside the alien, Victor Wembanyama. Devin Vassell is the primary SF at 81 OVR, leaving enough room for your MyPLAYER to take the starting job. The rest of the supporting cast includes Stephon Castle, Dylan Harper, De’Aaron Fox, Tobias Harris, and more.
Minnesota Timberwolves
Ayo Dosunmu is the projected starting SF in Minnesota, and at 81 OVR, it’s doable to take over the starting spot. With the trade for LaMelo Ball in the offseason, the Twolves have become one of the most balanced teams in the NBA. Superstar Anthony Edwards continues to take his game to new heights, and Rudy Gobert, Jaden McDaniels, and new pickup Jonathan Kuminga round out the roster nicely. If you’re willing to compete for the spot rather than walk into an automatic starting role, the Twolves give you one of the better combinations of teammates, team quality, and long-term upside.
Cleveland Cavaliers
Cleveland is another strong option if you want to play SF on a legitimate contender without dealing with an established player at the position. New pickup Peyton Watson is the main SF option, but sits at only a 79 OVR, leaving the starting spot attainable for your MyPLAYER. You’ll also have Donovan Mitchell, James Harden, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen giving you a loaded supporting cast. With Cleveland projected to be one of the better teams in the East, this is a strong combination of playing time, star teammates, and winning.
Power Forward (PF)
San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio also makes a ton of sense at power forward as well. Tobias Harris – who is 34 years old – is the starting PF at 81 OVR, leaving the PF very open for your MyPLAYER. Can you get Wemby over the hump for his first championship?
Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers have a wide-open PF situation, with Jake LaRavia now the main PF competition alongside Jarred Vanderbilt and Sandro Mamukelashvili. None are high-level PFs, so your MyPLAYER can realistically push for the starting job pretty quickly. With LeBron James bolting to the Sixers, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves lead the offense. The offseason pickups of Walker Kessler and Kevon Looney gives you some rim protection and interior defense as well to become part of the Lakers’ next era.
Phoenix Suns
Miles Bridges is the starting PF for the Suns at 80 OVR, which gives you an opening to becoming the starter. Devin Booker remains the centerpiece of the offense, while the roster has enough talent around him to make this a much more attractive destination than a typical rebuilding team. The Suns aren’t projected as an elite contender, but the combination of an easy plugin at PF and a proven star makes Phoenix a solid choice.
Center (C)
Boston Celtics
The Celtics have one of the better center openings for a MyPLAYER. Mitchell Robinson and Neemias Queta are both around 80 OVR, giving you a solid chance to take over the starting job while playing alongside Jayson Tatum, Derrick Brown, and new Celtic, Paul George. Losing Jaylen Brown hurts, but the Celtics still have a decent roster.
Phoenix Suns
Phoenix gives you another trajectory to becoming a starting center. Mark Williams is the starting center at 78 OVR, leaving plenty of room for you to take over the position. You’ll also have Devin Booker as an elite scoring option in the backcourt, while Miles Bridges and Dillon Brooks give you athletic, versatile players around you.
Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers are pretty desperate for a center. With Brook Lopez at only a 77 OVR and 38 years old. Your MyPLAYER can quickly take over the starting role, while Darius Garland and Brandon Ingram give you legitimate offensive talent to work with. The wide-open center spot and decent offensive pieces make them a worthwhile option if your priority is getting on the floor immediately.
Conclusion
Where you decide to play can have a big impact on your MyPLAYER’s trajectory. We hope this guide helped you decide on where to take your talents in NBA 2K27’s MyCAREER!
