MyTEAM in NBA 2K27 has been redesigned to make the entire experience faster, cleaner, and easier to navigate, putting the most important content within easy reach as soon as you enter the mode.
The streamlined menus and refreshed look are only part of the changes. Underneath the new presentation are major additions and updates, including a completely revamped Exchange, the new Player XP progression system, and more. Add a massive unified Auction House connecting PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, the return of popular multiplayer modes and Gauntlet, and NBA 2K27 delivers a deeper competitive MyTEAM experience.
Here’s everything that’s changing this year.
EXCHANGE WITHOUT LIMITS
The Exchange is receiving one of the biggest overhauls in MyTEAM history, giving virtually every card in your collection a useful purpose. Building your ideal MyTEAM lineup requires strategy, and NBA 2K27 is changing how you get value from the cards you collect. Instead of leaving valuable cards unused on your bench, the revamped Exchange gives you more ways to turn them into high-level rewards.
For the first time, any Player Card can be submitted to The Exchange, with the exception of Free Agent cards. That includes cards earned through Season-level rewards. Cards used to complete a Collection will also become unauctionable instead of locked. This means you can still use those cards in The Exchange after you’ve received the Collection Reward.
Here’s how the new Exchange system works:
- Premier Exchange: Each Season will feature one of the most powerful Player Cards in MyTEAM. You can obtain it by submitting a specific assortment of cards from your collection.
- Regular Exchange Drops: Three new Exchange drops will be released every Friday at launch, providing a steady stream of powerful Player Card rewards. If you begin working toward an Exchange before its timer expires, you’ll still be able to continue progressing toward it afterward.
- Flexible Gem+ Exchanges: Requirements scale according to gem tiers, but higher-tier cards can satisfy lower-tier requirements. For example, a Diamond can be submitted for an Amethyst+ Exchange. Any eligible card counts regardless of whether it came from a pack, Auction House, reward, or Locker Code.
With these changes, every card you earn, pull, or unlock can contribute to your progression, giving you greater freedom when building your lineup.
THE BRAND-NEW PLAY TAB
The first major change you’ll notice after entering MyTEAM is the redesigned Play tab. The new layout is designed to put the newest content front and center each day. At the top of the screen, a Featured section provides immediate access to the latest Challenges, Dominations, and other highlighted activities. You can also mark your favorite game modes and pin them to the Favorites row, giving you one-click access to the modes you play most often. The menus may be simpler, but the actual multiplayer experience is also getting a major update.
ROTATING MULTIPLAYER MODES
Fan-favorite modes including Triple Threat Online and Clutch Time Online return alongside new challenges, rewards, and gameplay setups. These multiplayer modes will rotate throughout the year. Some may be available for a single weekend, while others can run during a special Festival or an entire Season. The rules and rewards can change from one rotation to another. You may encounter Salary Cap restrictions, specialized Limited lineups, Win Streak objectives, and high-level rewards, keeping multiplayer fresh throughout the year.
Starting in Season 1, Triple Threat Online will remain available for the entire Season and will use a traditional ladder reward system. Completing the mode can earn you a reward Player Card—and if that player doesn’t fit your lineup, you can use the card in The Exchange.
Clutch Time Online also returns at launch, featuring its fast-paced format with a 4-point line and 14-second shot clocks. Unlike Triple Threat Online, however, Clutch Time Online will have a limited availability window to make room for other unique multiplayer experiences and rewards.
ALL-NEW PLAYER XP SYSTEM
One of the biggest additions to NBA 2K27 MyTEAM is the new Player XP system, which allows every Player Card in your collection to level up. Simply put a Player Card into your lineup and use it on the court to earn XP. Strong performances across any MyTEAM mode will help that card progress even faster. As cards level up, they can unlock rewards that work alongside existing Evolutions, Dynamic Duos, and Coach Card boosts.
Player XP rewards can include:
- Attribute boosts
- Starting the game with Takeover activated
- A permanent additional turbo meter for increased stamina
- An additional Badge Slot
Player XP isn’t limited to gameplay upgrades, either. Some levels allow you to break Prize Basketballs whenever that player is in your lineup, while others can directly award packs or minigames. Certain progression levels will also give you choices between different rewards. For example, you may choose between a 3-point shooting boost and a driving dunk boost, or between a raw attribute increase and another reward. Most importantly, Player XP is tied to your account rather than the physical card. If you sell a card on the Auction House or use it in The Exchange, your progress isn’t lost. Reacquire that same card later and you’ll continue from exactly where you left off.
NEW GAME CHANGER POWER-UPS
NBA 2K27 also introduces new power-up cards designed specifically around Player XP:
- Player XP Boost: Increases the Player XP earned by a card.
- Player XP Multiplier: Applies a multiplier to all players’ Player XP during the next game.
- Clean Slate: Removes all Player XP from a card, allowing you to level it up again and make different reward or boost selections.
- Respec: Lets you change previous reward or boost choices without removing your accumulated Player XP.
UNIFIED AUCTION HOUSE
The Auction House is becoming cross-platform for the first time. In NBA 2K27, the Auction House will be unified across PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. That creates the largest combined pool of community-listed cards in MyTEAM history. For players, the larger marketplace means more cards to choose from and a better chance of finding the exact Player Cards your lineup needs, while also helping create more consistent and stable market prices.
Transactions are also being sped up. When you win an auction on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo Switch 2, there will no longer be a verification delay before receiving your card. Your new Player Card becomes available immediately. Sellers will still have their transactions monitored, but their verification process before redeeming MyTEAM Points from a listing will be significantly shorter.
Finding cards is also easier:
- The Auction House is available to everyone immediately.
- Wishlist cards you don’t own directly from the Collections menu.
- Search for multiple wishlist cards without complicated filters.
- Save custom searches so your favorite filters are ready whenever you return.
TRIPLE THREAT PARK & ALL-STAR TEAM-UP
Triple Threat Park returns with a nighttime makeover in Skyline Park, surrounded by a huge glowing city backdrop. The Park brings MyTEAM cards into a Park-style environment with returning 2v2 and 3v3 co-op games, along with head-to-head team-control matchups.
The Showcase Spot lets you open packs while your NBA and WNBA stars walk onto the stage in front of other players.
The MyTEAM pop-up store also connects directly to All-Star Team-Up.
Both Triple Threat Park and All-Star Team-Up now use the same priority-card lineup, reducing setup time between the two modes. All-Star Team-Up games now take place inside authentic NBA and WNBA arenas, complete with commentary from the broadcast crew to create a more traditional televised-game atmosphere.
Before each game begins, a new matchup screen displays each player’s MyTEAM card, including their top attributes and Badges. This gives you a quick scouting report before tip-off. Players also wear team-specific uniforms in both All-Star Team-Up and Triple Threat Park Co-Op. For example, a Jaylen Brown Series 1 card will wear his new Philadelphia 76ers uniform.
All-Star Team-Up has also been adjusted:
- Squad Win rewards now require three wins instead of five.
- Individual Daily Win Streak rewards have been added, similar to Triple Threat Park.
- A new Squad vs. Squad kiosk lets you organize private games.
- You can connect with up to nine other players and compete using your favorite MyTEAM cards.
BREAKOUT & GAUNTLET
Breakout is getting a new progression system in NBA 2K27. During an All Modes run, every time you warp, your game board expands. As you progress, additional free spaces appear, giving you more choices and rewards when you reach the edges of the larger boards. Starting a new run is also faster. Previously unlocked warp corners remain revealed, allowing you to plan a route toward the biggest boards and highest-level rewards more quickly.
GAUNTLET
Gauntlet returns with a major change: it’s now infinite. Instead of the 100-game straight path from NBA 2K26, your run can continue as long as you still have eligible, playable Player Cards available in your deeper collection. A Seasonal Gauntlet leaderboard will track who can earn the most wins during a single run. Gauntlet lineups also feature pre-selected Player Cards for each game:
- Triple Threat: 1 card
- Clutch Time: 2 cards
- Full Lineups: 3 cards
This adds another strategic layer because you’ll have to build your approach around the cards assigned to each game. Special shops can also appear during your Gauntlet run. These allow you to exchange remaining card uses for valuable rewards—or skip the shop and recover some card uses to keep your run going. The goal is to manage your collection carefully, extend your run as long as possible, and climb the seasonal leaderboard.
CARD DISCOVERY
Ever faced an incredible Player Card and wondered how to get one yourself? NBA 2K27 adds tools to make finding those cards much easier. A new Scouting Report section inside Collections records recent Player Cards you’ve played against. If you see a card you want, you can wishlist it or open the View Player menu to see exactly how you can obtain it.
The system will tell you whether the card is currently available through:
- The Pack Market
- The unified Auction House
- A specific game mode reward
You can also search for cards you don’t own using the Collection Search. Search by player name or minimum attribute threshold to see every available version of that player and how each version can be acquired. Even during games, the Pause and Coach menus now display each player’s MyTEAM card when you’re making substitutions or checking the box score.
NEW GEM TIERS & PLAYER CARD PARALLELS
NBA 2K27 is introducing new visual variety through Gem Tiers and Player Card Parallels.
Previously, Player Cards rated between 90 and 99 OVR were grouped into five primary gem categories:
- Amethyst
- Diamond
- Pink Diamond
- Galaxy Opal
- Dark Matter
In NBA 2K27, every overall rating above 90 receives its own unique Gem Tier and visual design. The game will launch with the familiar gem system, while additional new tiers will be introduced throughout the year.
PLAYER CARD PARALLELS
Parallels create alternate visual versions of existing Player Cards. Available Parallels include categories such as:
- Holo
- Glass
- Gem
- On Fire
And more will be introduced. If you obtain duplicate Parallels or find one on the unified Auction House, you can merge it with your existing base Player Card. Instead of choosing between duplicate cards or throwing one away, merging lets you add additional Parallels to your favorites. The process is strictly visual. It does not change accumulated Player XP, active Badges, or equipped Shoes. You can switch between unlocked Parallels whenever you want through the menus. Having multiple Parallels attached to a card may also increase its Auction House value and provide additional options when completing Exchanges or Challenges.
LOG IN FOR MORE REWARDS
The Daily Login system has been expanded into a three-tier reward structure.
- Daily Login Rewards: Log in each day to receive a reward, just as in previous MyTEAM games.
- Login Streak Rewards: Earn additional rewards for consecutive login streaks of three, five, and seven days. After completing seven-day streaks, the rewards for future streak days are permanently upgraded. The more streaks you complete during the year, the better your future login rewards become.
- Lifetime Rewards: Earn rewards based on your total number of MyTEAM login days throughout NBA 2K27, regardless of whether those days are consecutive.
EXHIBITIONS
Don’t let high-rated cards sit unused just because they don’t fit your main lineup. Exhibitions allow you to send Player Cards on missions where they can return with useful rewards. This year, you have greater control over which cards you send. However, using a lower-tier card than the mission recommends reduces your chance of success. For example, you can send a Gold card when a mission calls for a Ruby, but you’ll risk the players returning without a reward.
Successfully completing Exhibitions contributes to your Exhibition Win Streak. Keep the streak alive and you can repeatedly earn the top reward. Lose the streak and you’ll return to the beginning of the ladder, although you can earn the rewards again. Some missions can also be ended early by completing games in other MyTEAM modes. Choosing the right card for the right Exhibition can help you maximize your chances of securing guaranteed rewards.
AND MUCH MORE
GETTING STARTED IN MYTEAM
The Welcome to MyTEAM experience has you build your initial lineup around NBA 2K27 cover athlete Victor Wembanyama.
You’ll receive a starter kit containing 10 cards, giving you an immediate boost as you begin building your collection.
HONE YOUR SKILLS
New and returning players can use a new set of intermediate Tutorial Challenges covering systems such as:
- Coach Development
- Evolutions
- Annual Starter Evolution cards
- Dynamic Duos
- Collection Complete rewards
NEW DOMINATION SETS
Domination returns with new sets of varying lengths throughout the year.
Sets are no longer restricted to 33 games.
At launch, you’ll have a traditional 33-game Domination featuring current NBA lineups and an 18-game Domination featuring WNBA lineups.
BECOME A SHOWDOWN CHAMPION
Showdown returns with popular elements from previous competitive modes.
Once you reach Tier 1, you’ll need to remain undefeated to win the Showdown Championship.
A championship victory triggers a team ring ceremony, adds a championship title to your MyTEAM Arena, and awards a Seasonal reward that can be earned multiple times.
SALARY CAP UPDATES
Salary Cap Online joins the rotating Limited Time Mode lineup.
For the first time, Salary Cap restrictions can also appear as an additional lineup requirement in Triple Threat Online and Clutch Time Online.
Salary Cap lineup rules can also be used in single-player Challenges, giving players more opportunities to use this roster-building format throughout the year.
EXPANDED LINEUPS
Full Lineups are expanding from 13 players to 15.
All five positions now have three lineup slots, giving you more depth when building your roster.
Lineup management is also easier, with quicker substitution options and consistent bench presets.
EASY ACCESS TO COACHING
Coaching now has its own option under the Manage tab rather than being grouped with lineups.
This makes it easier to access Coach Training Challenges, which can unlock new Badges for your Player Cards.
Coach Points have been removed. Training Challenges now unlock directly according to your coach’s skill level in each discipline.
SHOE CARDS
Shoe tiers are connected to NBA 2K27‘s new Takeover system and determine how many Takeover Abilities you can assign to a Player Card across:
- Shooting
- Finishing
- Playmaking
- Defense
- Rebounding
FESTIVAL EVENTS ARE BACK
Festival events return in NBA 2K27.
Converting Event Cards through The Exchange is also faster. You can now convert them with a single button press, replacing the old system of upgrading or downgrading cards one tier at a time.
MULTI-SELECT QUICKSELL & SEND TO AUCTIONS
A long-requested community feature, multi-select has been expanded within Collections.
You can select multiple cards and send them directly to the Auction House or quicksell them for MyTEAM Points.
The feature works from individual Collections as well as Search results.
REFRESHED MYTEAM ARENA
The MyTEAM Arena returns as your starting stadium.
The arena features a new hardwood look, refreshed bleachers that bring fans closer to the action, additional banners and trophies, and the names of NBA 2K26‘s Top 10 REP players displayed around the court.
MYTEAM REP REWARDS
MyTEAM REP rewards return, highlighted by a mysterious MyTEAM G.O.A.T. serving as the top Dark Matter REP reward.
Other rewards include LED Floors and additional exclusive customization items.
NEW ENVIRONMENTS
Triple Threat and Clutch Time are moving away from the House of Clutch and into new environments.
Triple Threat takes place on a lively city street corner and introduces swappable court floors for the first time in MyTEAM. These floors can be earned through MyTEAM REP, including an LED Floor variant.
Clutch Time moves to the rooftops, featuring a covered rooftop court with NBA, WNBA, or custom floors. A digital 4-point line is added to the court for gameplay.
THE BUZZER BEATER
MyTEAM in NBA 2K27 is built around a straightforward idea: every card in your collection should have value.
The return of classic multiplayer modes, the new Player XP system, expanded Parallels, a unified Auction House, and new progression systems all add depth to the mode.
But the biggest change may be the revamped Exchange.
By giving players more ways to use cards they already own, NBA 2K27 makes collection management more strategic. Instead of letting unwanted cards sit unused, The Exchange can turn them into meaningful rewards and help drive progression throughout the year.
From Season 1 through the final buzzer, the goal is to make your entire collection matter.

Can I exchange cards I earned from Season level rewards in MyTEAM?
Yes. For the first time, you can exchange any of your Player Cards, excluding Free Agent cards, including cards earned from Season level rewards, for elite rewards through The Exchange.
Even cards used to complete a Collection can still be used afterward. Once you receive a Collection Reward, those cards become unauctionable rather than locked, meaning you can still use them in The Exchange.
How does the new Player XP system work in NBA 2K27 MyTEAM?

Does my Player XP carry over if I sell or exchange a card?
Yes. Player XP is tied to your account, so selling or exchanging a card does not erase its progress.
