According to Adrian Wojnarowski, George and his agent, Aaron Mintz of CAA, met with a 76ers group that included owner Josh Harris, president of basketball operations Daryl Morey, general manager Elton Brand, and Sixers legend Julius Erving in Los Angeles last night. The meeting resulted in George committing to the 76ers.
At 34 years of age, Paul George is a nine-time All-Star and a six-time All-NBA selection, including being a first-team selection in 2019. Re-establishing himself as one of the top two-way perimeter players in the league, he averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in the 2023-24 season.
George will team up with Joel Embiid, the recently re-signed Tyrese Maxey, and the rest of the Sixers in hopes of challenging the champion Boston Celtics as contenders for the NBA title.
