NBA 2K25 Tips: Change MyPLAYER Name, Jersey, Nickname

If you’re wondering how to change your MyPLAYER name and/or your nickname from “MP” to something else in NBA 2K25, look no further. Here are the step by step instructions on how to change your name in the game:

How to Change Your MyPLAYER Name

  1. From the NBA 2K25 main menu, go to “MyCAREER”
  2. In one of your MyPLAYER saves / slots, select “New”
  3. Select “Create New Build, Pro-Tuned Builds, or NBA Builds“
  4. At the next screen, choose a new First Name and Last Name. You can also change jersey number from this screen.
  5. Go on to finishing creating the build
  6. Select “Choose Team” and choose an NBA team
  7. Skip through all the cutscenes and your new MyPLAYER name will be updated

How to Change Your MyPLAYER Nickname

Follow these instructions if you already finalized your MyPLAYER build:

  1. From the MyCAREER menu, select “Options”
  2. Select “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Secondary Nickname” to change your nickname
  4. In this screen you can also change your social media name under “Social Media Handle”

How to Change Your MyPLAYER Jersey Number

  1. From the MyCAREER menu, select “Options”
  2. Select “Settings”
  3. In Settings you can change your jersey number under “Jersey Number”. (Note: the number you want may not be available if one of your NBA teammates wears that number or the number is retired).
