Recently we gave y’all the best builds on NBA 2K22 Next-Gen. So this week we’re going to let you know our favorite builds we’ve seen in NBA 2K22. Unlike the builder on Next-Gen, we have the same pie chart system from the past two seasons, with the addition of a few new pie charts. With the pie charts in place, it doesn’t let us create our player the way we exactly want, but there are some great builds that allow you to dominate on the cruise ship, in the rec and 5v5 Pro-Am. Shooting is extremely easy this year, to shoot 3s consistently all you need is a 3pt rating of 65 or higher, you can go lower if you consider yourself one of the best. One last thing to note is the +4 attribute boost when hitting 99 overall, as well as a +4 boost to physicals upon completing the weekly workout or unlocking the gym rat badge. The aspect to grind for certain attributes to unlock certain animations is still present in NBA 2K22 current-gen.
Best Point Guard Build: 6’5 2-Way Slashing Playmaker — PG
To start the list we have a point guard build that mimics the two-way point guard build from NBA 2K20. The build has access to contact dunks, access to all of the dribble moves, can shoot the ball off the catch or dribble consistently, and can play defense unlike other point guard builds. On top of being able to do most things on the court, the build is a blur with its 94 speed. This is definitely not one of the builds I want to see on the got-next spot.
Physical Profile:
- Height: 6’5″
- Weight: 175lbs
- Wingspan: 86.0″
- Body Shape: Solid
Takeover: Slashing
Key Attributes:
- 94 Speed
- 86 Ball Handle
- 86 Driving Dunk
- 82 Steal
- 65 3pt Rating
Outside Point Guard Build: 6’3″ Playmaking Shot Creator with a Twist — PG
The Play-Shot was the meta build last year in NBA 2K22, as it had a high 3pt rating as well as a high ball handle. The only drawback was not being able to play defense. This year you can make a play-shot with lockdown takeover which sounds pretty ridiculous. It has access to all dribble moves, access to park dunks only, and a high 3pt rating. Now you can mix your opponents on the offensive end, clamp them up on the defensive, and do it all over again.
Physical Profile:
- Height: 6’3″
- Weight: 170lbs
- Wingspan: 82.2″
- Body Shape: Solid
Takeover: Lockdown
Key Attributes:
- 90 Speed
- 86 Ball Handle
- 85 3pt Rating
- 82 Steal
- 88 Mid-Range Shot
Best Wing Builds: 6’7″ Perimeter Lockdown — SF
The 6’7″ Perimeter Lock is the most versatile build in the game as it can keep the defense honest, by being a knock-down shooter. That isn’t even the best trait of the build, as it can play on the perimeter as well as in the paint. You can choose between sharpshooting, lockdown, playmaking, or glass-cleaning takeover. In my opinion, I would either go with sharp or lockdown. This build will be a staple in many Pro-Am 5v5 and 3v3 lineups, so get used to them.
Physical Profile:
- Height: 6’7″
- Weight: 196lbs
- Wingspan: 89.0″
- Body Shape: Solid
Takeover: Sharpshooting
Key Attributes:
- 83 Steal
- 84 Speed
- 81 Defensive Rebound
- 67 Ball Handle (70 @ 98 Overall)
- 80 3pt Rating
Wing Builds: 6’7″ Playmaking Four — PF
It would not be a top build list article if a Playmaking Glass Cleaner type build was not featured somewhere. Like Next-Gen, this is the build that I’m currently using on current-gen and it has been a lot of fun. The unique thing about the build is the playmaking at the 4 or the 5, which causes a mismatch nightmare for opposing teams. It allows having 3 ball-handlers on the court at once which is very hard to guard. The build also receives hall of fame defending badges, and a respectable 3pt shot if you can find the right jump shot. I’m going, to be honest, only make this build if you’re willing to grind it out to 99 overall, as once it gets all the attributes, it’s going to be an unstoppable force.
Physical Profile:
- Height: 6’7″
- Weight: 200lbs
- Wingspan: 89.0″
- Body Shape: Burly
Takeover: Playmaking
Key Attributes:
- 84 Steal
- 82 Speed
- 81 Defensive Rebound
- 76 Ball Handle
- 81 Driving Dunk
Best Center Builds: Glass-Cleaning Finisher — C
The last build on the list is the inside big, which is a glass-cleaning finisher. This build is going to be able to be paired with a play shot and be able to set great screens and finish alley-oops. In a 5v5 setting, this build is the best vertical spacer in the game. It can unlock all of the contact dunks, and the rare center dunk packages due to it having a 95 standing dunk. The build gets 26 defensive badges, so it should have no problem being switched on the perimeter. I made it so it would have a 51 3pt rating, which gives you the chance to be a spot-up if your guard runs dimer and floor general.
Physical Profile:
- Height: 6’9″
- Weight: 200lbs
- Wingspan: 91.0″
- Body Shape: Built
Takeover: Slashing
Key Attributes:
- 91 Driving Dunk
- 95 Standing Dunk
- 90 Defensive and Offensive Rebound
- 94 Block
- 87 Vertical
Conclusion:
Once again guys I want to thank you guys for reading the article. I hope there was a build-in here that caters to your playstyle and fits the needs of the squad you play 2K with. There is a lot more variety to build making this year in NBA 2K which is a good thing. It gets boring only seeing the same three builds every game. Well, that’s enough talking from me, I hope to see you guys crushing the competition on the Cruise Ship.
