NBA 2K21 Next-Gen Best Builds for Every Position (PS5, XBSX)

With the release of NBA 2K21 on the next generation of consoles comes faster load times, a brand new place to play, and most importantly a brand new build system. The new build system in NBA 2K21 allows the player base full customization on how they want their MyPLAYER to play on the court. There are no more pie charts to hold players back from creating the build they want. This year each player gets to handpick where they allocate their attribute points to, including the physical attributes of Speed, Acceleration, Strength, Vertical, and Stamina. With all this in mind, we are going to be showcasing the best builds in NBA 2K21 to dominate in the City, Pro-AM, and The Rec.

Best Point Guard Build: 6’5’’ Scoring Machine

This point guard build is for the floor general of every friend group, in 2K you always need a competent PG who can get to the rim and knock down the three with consistency. Current Gen limited players by forcing them to go shorter if they wanted better speed and a higher three-point rating. On NextGen being a little guard is going to be unheard of as you can get better attributes all while being much taller.

Physical Profile:

  • Height: 6’5″
  • Weight: 180 lbs
  • Wingspan: 6’10”
  • Body Shape: Personal Preference

Takeover:

● Spot-Up Precision
● Finishing Moves

Key Attributes:

● 95 3PT Rating
● 95 Driving Dunk
● 89 Ball Handle
● 90 Speed With Ball
● 84 Perimeter Defense
● 91 Speed

The build has access to 53 badge upgrades which is plenty enough to compete at a high level in any game mode in NBA 2K21.

Best Shooting Guard Build: 6’7″ 2-Way 3-Level Scorer

This shooting guard build is very well-rounded and can play the two or the three in the park, it’s very versatile. The 2-Way 3-Level Scorer is the premier 3 and D build that all park and pro-am squads need to be able to compete at a high level. It can knock down threes at a high clip while also taking the responsibility of guarding the opposing team’s best player. My favorite part of the build is the defense as it gets 27 defensive badge points, which will allow you to shut down your match up and give your team the win.

Physical Profile:

● Height: 6’7″
● Weight: 200lbs
● Wingspan: 7’0″
● Body Shape: Personal Preference

Takeover:

● Extreme Clamps
● Spot-Up Precision

Key Attributes:

● 89 3pt Rating
● 95 Perimeter Defense
● 85 Block
● 95 Driving Dunk
● 92 Defensive Rebound

Best SF/Wing Build: 6’7″ Offensive Threat

This is probably the best build in the game in terms of being the most well-rounded as well as having the most badge points while still being effective on the court attribute wise. There is no weakness in the 6’7″ Offensive Threat it’s got the size, can speed boost, contact dunk, shoot limitless range 3’s, and play lockdown defense. The build has 84 badge points which something we have not seen in 2K. If want you to dominate out on the court, you can not go wrong with the Offensive Threat.

Physical Profile:

● Height: 6’7″
● Weight: 210lbs
● Wingspan: 7’4″
● Body Shape: Burly (important)

Takeover:

● Easy Blowbys
● Limitless Range

Key Attributes:

● 95 Driving Dunk
● 84 3pt Rating
● 93 Block
● 85 Speed
● 82 Ball Handle
● 84 Badge points

Best PF/Wing Build: 6’9″ 3-Level Scorer

The 6’9″ 3-Level Scorer is very similar to the rebounding wing of 2K20. This build also resembles Kevin Durant as it is lengthy, shoots from anywhere, can put the ball on the floor, and drive hard to the rim. If you’re looking to run the four in the Pro-Am or the three in the City, this build will wreak havoc on opponents as it’s a mismatch nightmare.

Physical Profile:

● Height: 6’9″
● Weight: 240lbs
● Wingspan: 7’2″
● Body Shape: Personal Preference

Takeover:

● Pull-Up Precision
● Negative Impact

Key Attributes:

● 84 3pt Rating
● 91 Driving Dunk
● 95 Block
● 95 Defensive rebound
● Kevin Durant-Like

Best Center Build: 6’11” 2-Way Stretch Glass Cleaner

The last build to complete our best builds guide in NBA 2K21 NextGen is the 2-Way Stretch Glass Cleaner at the Center Position. This build offers lockdown defense not only in the paint but, can come out and guard the pick n’ roll due to its above-average speed. It can also stretch the floor and make it tough on opposing defenses. Lastly, if it gets the ball down low it can go to work as it has a plethora of finishing badges. If you were to make a modern-day Center in a lab, it would look very similar to this.

Physical Profile:

● Height: 6’11”
● Weight: 235lbs
● Wingspan: 7’5″
● Body Shape: Personal Preference

Takeover:

● Paint Intimidation
● Spot-Up Precision

Key Attributes:

● 95 Standing Dunk
● 92 Post Control
● 81 3pt Rating
● 95 Block
● 95 Offensive & Defensive Rebound

That just about wraps up the guide, all of these builds here are shaping up look extremely fun and overpowered. This year the frontcourt builds got a lot of love in terms of getting more badge points than that of a guard build. If I had to recommend one build to choose and start off the year it would be the 6’7″ offensive threat due to how well-rounded it is. If you were to put these builds in one Pro-Am lineup it would be a juggernaut and very hard to stop due to every build being able to shoot, drive, and make plays. This year of 2K is building up to be very promising, and it is a breath of fresh air to have an enjoyable basketball simulation on the market. Happy 2K-ing everybody.
