Top Rated Players in NBA 2K24: Jokic #1, LeBron Drops, More

NBA 2K24 Player Ratings have always been one of the most exciting parts of the NBA 2K series each year before the game releases. In addition to the NBA regular season, the playoffs were another opportunity for 2K to analyze player performances and translate that into 2K ratings. NBA players are also eager to see what their overalls are in NBA 2K24 and where they unofficially rank on the NBA totem pole.

NBA 2K24 Ratings – Top Players

Nikola Jokic – 98 OVR (+1)

“The Joker” had another fantastic regular season, finishing 2nd overall in MVP voting. Jokic played out of his mind throughout the 2023 NBA playoffs while his Nuggets cruised to the NBA Finals and easily handled the Miami Heat. The two-time NBA MVP lead the Nuggets to the franchise’s first ring while putting up historic numbers. A +1 bump to 98 OVR in NBA 2K24 was well-deserved, making Jokic the #1 overall player in the game.

  • NBA 2K24 Rating: 98 OVR (+1 difference from last game)
  • Regular Season Stats: 24.5 ppg 11.8 rpg 9.8 apg

Giannis Antetokounmpo – 97 OVR

The Milwaukee Bucks had the best record in the league and were the #1 seed in the East, but were stunned by an early exit in the first round to the Miami Heat – which contributed to their coach Mike Budenholzer getting fired. Injuries kept Giannis out of Game 2 and 3, and his numbers overall in the playoffs were down when compared with his normal playoff output in the past. He finished 3rd overall in the MVP race and we didnt’ see 2K dropping his rating below what it was last game – 97 overall.

  • NBA 2K24 Rating: 97 OVR (no difference from last game)
  • Regular Season Stats: 31.1 ppg 11.8 rpg 5.7 apg

Joel Embiid – 96 OVR (-1)

Embiid won the 2022-2023 NBA MVP but had a lackluster playoff performance, which probably contributed to a -1 drop from last game. In a championship-or-bust year, the 76ers fell short once again, losing to the Boston Celtics in the 2nd round in seven games.

  • NBA 2K24 Rating: 96 OVR (-1 difference from last game)
  • Regular Season stats: 33.1 ppg 10.2 rpg 4.2 apg 1.7 bpg

Kevin Durant – 96 OVR

A mid-season trade found Durant with the Phoenix Suns, where they beat the Clippers in the playoffs but were bounced by the Nuggets in six games. KD had a decent playoff run, but had some off-nights as well shooting the ball. Durant, at 34 years of age, remains at a 96 OVR and is still one of the most dominant scorers in the NBA.

  • NBA 2K24 Rating: 96 OVR (no difference from last game)
  • Regular Season stats: 29.1 pgg 6.1 rpg 5.0 apg

Stephen Curry – 96 OVR

Curry had a typical Steph-like year individually, dropping threes and carrying the Warriors many nights throughout the regular season. The W’s got past the Sacramento Kings in the first round but were unexpectedly bounced by the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Semi-finals. Curry is getting older, but he’s still among the elite players in the Association. Curry stands pat at a 96 overall for NBA 2K24.

  • NBA 2K24 Rating: 96 OVR (no difference from last game)
  • Regular Season stats: 29.4 ppg 6.1 rpg 6.3 apg

LeBron James – 96 OVR (-1)

As the oldest player of this Top 10 list at 38 years old, LeBron continues to defy Father Time. James had a very good 2022-23 season, highlighted by the historic milestone of breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record. Stat-wise, James had a good playoff run with his Lakers, but shot only 26% from three-point land. His player performances aside, NBA 2K may have knock downed LeBron’s rating solely out of anticipation (however fair or not) of a drop-off in athleticism and skills due to LeBron’s age, who will be 39 early on in the 2023-24 season.

  • NBA 2K24 Rating: 96 OVR (-1 difference from last game)
  • Regular Season stats: 28.9 ppg 8.3 rpg 6.8 apg

Jimmy Butler – 95 OVR (+2)

“Himmy” Butler took his 8th seed gritty Miami Heat team back to the NBA Finals, facing the Denver Nuggets. Butler kept improving his 2K rating throughout the regular season, ending at a 93 OVR at season’s end. Butler has had some great performances in the playoffs, and the bottom line is the Miami Heat don’t get to the NBA Finals without him stepping up his game, which is likely the rational behind a +2 boost to 95 overall for NBA 2K24.

  • NBA 2K24 Rating: 95 OVR (+2 difference from last game)
  • Regular Season stats: 22.9 ppg 5.9 rpg 5.3 apg 1.8 spg

Luka Doncic – 95 OVR (-2)

Doncic had a great regular season individually but his Dallas Mavericks overall had a disappointing season. The Mavs missed the playoffs – not even making the play-in tournament – and also were fined $750,000 for tanking. Luka’s 2K rating definitely took a hit, with a -2 drop from where he was rated at in NBA 2K23.

  • NBA 2K24 Rating: 95 OVR (-2 difference from last game)
  • Regular Season stats: 32.4 ppg 8.6 rpg 8.0 apg

Jayson Tatum – 95 OVR

Overall, Tatum had a good regular season and playoff stats, but had a few off-nights scoring the ball. His Celtics almost achieved the impossible by coming back from a 3-0 deficit to the Miami Heat, only to get blown out in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Tatum being under a 95 OVR in NBA 2K24 doesn’t make much sense, so he saw no change here in his rating for NBA 2K24.

  • NBA 2K24 Rating: 95 OVR (no difference from last game)
  • Regular Season stats: 30.1 ppg 8.8 rpg 4.6 apg

Damian Lillard – 94 OVR (-1)

(NBA 2K23 image)

One of the most loyal players in NBA history, Lillard continued to put up big numbers during the regular season but it was another year of his Portland Trail Blazers missing the playoffs. Also where Lillard winds up this season remains to be seen, as he’s requested a trade from the Blazers.

  • NBA 2K24 Rating: 94 OVR (-1 difference from last game)
  • Regular Season stats: 32.2 ppg 4.8 rpg 7.3 apg

Devin Booker – 94 OVR (+2)

Last year’s cover athlete Devin Booker gains +2 to start NBA 2K24 at a 94 OVR. After the Suns traded for Kevin Durant, some wondered how it’d affect Booker’s production level, but Booker’s game continued to thrive. In the playoffs he had multiple 40+ point games, but fell to the eventual champion Denver Nuggets in the second round.

  • NBA 2K24 Rating: 94 OVR (+2 difference from last game)
  • Regular Season stats: 30.1 ppg 8.8 rpg 4.6 apg

Kawhi Leonard – 94 OVR (+2)

(NBA 2K23 image)

Although getting bounced from the first round of the 2023 playoffs 4-1 by the Phoenix Suns, Leonard played well and put up good stats. Leonard only played in 52 regular season games, but 2K saw his return as enough to boost his rating +2 to a 94 OVR.

  • NBA 2K24 Rating: 94 OVR (+2 difference from last game)
  • Regular Season stats: 30.1 ppg 8.8 rpg 4.6 apg
