NBA 2K Gameplay Director Mike Wang, aka @Beluba, announced via Twitter that an update to NBA 2K19 will improve the effectiveness of shot contests.

The latest update to gameplay seems to be a response to some rumblings and videos that emerged within the 2K Community displaying “hand in face” shots going in at a high rate in NBA 2K19. This update has the potential to impact the game in a major way, as many badged-out Sharpshooter builds have grown accustomed to routinely draining contested shots.
No doubt a player’s shot IQ will come into play more as the game seems to be self-correcting more towards realism, but we’ll have to wait and see how this plays out on the court.
