2K Sports and the NBA announced in February the new NBA 2K eLEAGUE for 2K Pro-Am, which will make it’s debut in NBA 2K18.  At this point, details are scarce, but what we do know about how to join NBA 2K eLEAGUE is the following:
- NBA 2K players will be chosen through a recruiting process by NBA teams and Take-Two
- Players will be put through a “virtual combine”
- Players will be drafted and sign a six-month contract with the franchise that drafts them
- Players will be presumably scouted
- Talent casting call (Miami Heat confirmed)
Some theories around the NBA 2K community are that “high-profile” and elite 2K Pro-Am players – those who’ve made a name for themselves or gotten exposure through previous NBA 2K $250K Tournaments, leaderboards, video highlight reels, Twitch, social media, and the like – will be highly scouted and targeted.
17 NBA teams will participate in the inaugural season. Â The Miami Heat have already made noise about recruiting – according to the Miami Herald, the Miami Heat will be hosting an open casting call to recruit potential NBA 2K eLEAGUE players. Â “There will be a talent casting call for bad-ass NBA 2K players,” Heat executive vice president and chief marketing officer Mike McCullough told the Herald. “We’ll make sure everyone knows when and where and how people can audition.”
