10 Things We Know About “NBA 2K17”

In NBA 2K17 news, we’ve compiled a list of 10 things to know about ‘NBA 2K17’. Check it out below!

1) NBA 2K17 – Paul George is Cover Athlete for Standard Edition, Kobe Bryant is Cover Athlete for Legend Edition

Paul George definitely earned this NBA 2K17 cover, returning to all-star form this season after rehabbing to come back from the gruesome injury he suffered during a Team USA scrimmage. Kobe Bryant will be reppin’ the Legend Edition version of the game, which will be a nice honor and ‘retirement gift’ for one of the best to ever step on the hardwood.

2) NBA 2K17 – It Will Be Available On Multiple Platforms

As expected and confirmed by retailers, NBA 2K17 will be available on multiple platforms – Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Also, like last year, we’d expect a mobile app version of the game as well, but that hasn’t been confirmed. No word yet on whether it will be available on PS Vita.

3) NBA 2K17 – Strong Indications of FIBA, Olympic, &/or USA Team Features (unconfirmed)

The Paul George NBA 2K17 cover, which shows him in a ‘TEAM USA’ jersey in the background, hints strongly at the possibility of a FIBA or Olympic type of new feature, and/or Team USA. The connection between NBA 2K cover athlete and new feature has some precedence – the “NBA 2K16” cover featured the cover athletes in their college jerseys, which turned out to be a new college feature in MyCAREER.

4) NBA 2K17 – Strong Indications of an NBA TV Highlight Show (unconfirmed)

As posted on twitter, NBA TV contributors Rick Fox, Sekou Smith, and Lang Whitaker did some mo-cap for the game. Does this hint at a new NBA TV weekly highlight show and recap segment? Stay tuned!

5) NBA 2K17 – Face Scan Mobile App

No doubt a welcomed feature to the 2K community, the customization of face scanning your face for your MyPLAYER will be getting a convenient boost with the new face scan app for mobile phone.

6) NBA 2K17 – More Signature Animations

Already a game with plenty of signature animations and style, NBA 2K17’s gameplay will be getting more signature animations. 2K’s Mike Wang said it was the “most signature animations you will ever see in any game today”. 2K has also added full control over get-back animations, using the right stick.

7) NBA 2K17 – Timed Locker Codes

NBA 2K17 Locker Codes will be timed, rather than limited to a set number of users. This is definitely good to hear, and should allow more users to claim locker codes.

8) NBA 2K17 – Team2K

As of now, the NBA players for #Team2K have been revealed – Paul George, Draymond Green, Andre Drummond, Kevin Durant, Jimmy Butler, Kyrie Irving, and Karl-Anthony Towns. What’s unclear as of now is the role they will play for NBA 2K17. Could it be these stars have been selected to mocap signature moves, or could it be some new gameplay feature or mode? We’ll all have to wait and see.
